Former prosecutor, Kelly Seigler, and investigator, Yolanda McCleary, are killin’ it (pun intended). These two lovely ladies are the face of the hit TNT Crime-Drama Cold Justice, currently airing new episodes Friday evenings at 8 PM Eastern on TNT.

I have to admit, I’m a crime procedural junkie — Law & Order (all of them), Homicide: Life on the Street, Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (and the New York & Miami spin-offs, too), 48 Hours, The First 48, Body of Proof, Bones, Rizzoli & Isles, Dateline, Fringe, Justified, The Killing, Sherlock, True Detective, Without a Trace — I could go on, but I think you get the gist, right? True life or scripted, doesn’t matter. If it’s about a good guy trackin’ down a scum bag, I’m in … just me & my bag of Brookside chocolates and Diet Coke. LOL

Last week’s show was in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, just across the bridge from Destin (where I used to live). Though I didn’t know the victim or anyone else involved in the case, it was still a little weird to see someplace I lived in on a major TV show. Ya know what I mean?

There are a revolving cast of law enforcement and other characters that assist Kelly & Yolanda from time to time as they traverse the U.S. cracking cold homicide cases. And it’s wonderful to see how they all care about each victim — not a disingenuous one in the entire bunch.

Just as in real life, not every episode ends with a slo-mo of the doer being led away in handcuffs, which drives my husband crazy. But, I kinda like that about the show. It’s real life and sometimes there’s just not enough to put the bad guy away. Sometimes, however, there is an entire show devoted to updates of cases previously featured that indicates whether charges were able to be brought against suspects. Other times, at the end of an episode, there’s just a quick blurb update.

I try to explain to my husband that justice takes time and can’t always be packaged up quickly with a neat little bow attached. He’s impatient, however, and wants to see the perps hang. (sigh) Maybe it’s a man thing, this impatience. In any case, it’s not deterrent enough to keep him from tuning in.

I’ll be settled in tonight at 8 PM Eastern, with TNT on the tube, to see Kelly and Yolanda tackle another case and weighing in on their Facebook page. Where will you be?
