Back to what works for me

Being unemployed, I am at home all day.  I get bored and when I’m bored, I apparently eat.  I don’t eat a whole lot at a time, I mostly graze or snack on things (greek yogurt, whole grain cheez-its, salad, fruit, etc).  I also found myself drinking hot chocolate with whipped cream a lot and it started to show!  I am not a compulsive eater, nor am I 200 lbs, 300 lbs, or higher.  At my last doctor’s appointment (a few months ago), I was just under 115 lbs. 

While I was working out yesterday, I looked down at my abs/stomach/midsection and was not happy with what I saw.  I can’t afford to buy pills, body wraps, or garments that are only temporary solutions, I’ve been thinking about what worked for me in the past.

This morning, I woke up sore [from my workout yesterday] and thought about doing pilates again.  Today, I did a 30 minute pilates workout and felt really good afterwards.  I am going to start incorporating pilates into my workout schedule.  If I am feeling sore, I will do pilates that day instead or just add it on after my cardio workout.  I already know pilates works for me, so I don’t need products that may not work as that is not good enough for me. I am going to use pilates to tone my body.

Pilates worked for me after I had my son. Eight days after I gave birth I started doing pilates again. I had done pilates before and loved it, so I couldn’t wait to start doing it again. I think pilates really helped me tone my stomach and my entire body after having my son.  This time around, I am hoping it will work again.  I don’t have to spend any money since I already have a few pilates DVDs to use. 

I am also trying to change what I drink.  I am cutting out the hot chocolate (it doesn’t help that my husband buys it in those big boxes) and instead drinking green tea.  Just today, I had 3 cups of tea!
