Being pregnant was such an amazing time in my life. We had battled with infertility for years and when I knew my son was actually going to make it I was ecstatic. Thinking about names was such a stressful time. As a child I grew up with a name everyone had, “Elizabeth”. May not seem so common but when I was little we had 9 in my class.
“Mom, I’m Bored” can be the most over said sentence during any school break. I often find myself stocking up on new crafts and small toy sets just to limit that sentences usage. Do not get me wrong I truly believe it is “ok” to have a “bored” kid on your hands because it encourages them to use their imagination. I also believe harnessing those creative juices can help eliminate several unnecessary battles.
I happen to be the Mom who spends most of her time cooking tasty treats in the kitchen for my family and friends. I personally enjoy cooking and love all things food related! Cooking is such a passion; then we sit down at the table and share about our day. What was our “highs” and “lows” for the day? After dinner, we usually enjoy some great desserts. Even though I love cooking, I have a hard time “baking”. I never buy the right things and just have a hard time creating delicious masterpieces. Baking has NOT been my favorite part of being in the kitchen, I decided to try and fool proof baking box called, Rise Baking.
I often wonder how long it takes people to use up their favorite colognes. Personally. I use up my perfume every couple of months and get on to a new scent. My tastes vary, much like the seasons do and I never really stay with one scent for too long.
After a long work week and crazy school schedule we like to take a night and just relax! Movie nights are truly a MUST in our house! We enjoy all sorts of fun movie flicks but nothing goes together with a movie night than popcorn! For years we have enjoyed the traditional flavor of movie butter popcorn. More recently we have found Popcorn for the People, a flavored popcorn, that I think you will LOVE as much as we do!
Something else I love about this company is their commitment to providing employment opportunities for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities…. [read more]
There are moments when you wake up in a hotel and just feel so at home. After a wonderful stay at Grist Iron Lodge, I felt this way. I woke up to a wonderful view overlook the Seneca Lake and vineyards. I just wanted to share my day after this experience because I know many of you travel to this area. You may not know some of these great activities and places to visit! After a hearty breakfast at the Grist Iron we started our day off early.
Winter is fast approaching and it is time to find activities my son will enjoy indoors. We are big advocates of education and learning through play time. If you were to walk into our home it is not laid out with the newest technologies. We have the latest version of things but I have them put away. The first thing my son can see are educational toys. I feel this truly encourages him to play with them first verses electronic devices. Ever heard the saying “outta sight, outta mind”?
The leaves are changing colors and Fall has officially rolled in. Time to break out my fuzzy warm sweaters and change my wardrobe over from Summer to Winter!
After traveling most of the Summer I have finally returned home. I will finally be staying home for a few weeks and catching up on household chores. Laundry happens to be the most daunting task — it never ends! Laundry piles quite literally give me nightmares because there never seems to be an end in sight or enough hours in my day!
I want to have clean, fresh laundry but, let’s face it, I do not always have time to wait for the appropriate part of the wash cycle to add in fabric softener or other additives. I need a solution to help cut time without giving up my dream of fresh smelling laundry!
Fall time has really hit our area hard and I am getting ready in full force. Cleaning out my Summer wardrobe and bringing in the new Fall fashions and scents. Since Fall is a transition season until the dreaded Winter time I like to keep light and fresh scents in my collection.
