An Affair to Remember

An Affair to Remember

About the book:

Monica Townsend enjoyed living the quiet life of a book editor – but, from the moment she stepped through her office door one evening, everything changed.  Kidnapped at gunpoint, she was held hostage at an abandoned warehouse, praying her life would be spared as shots rang through the air.

Police Officer, Chase Travers, was on duty when the call came in. Being the first officer at the scene, he didn’t anticipate the sight awaiting him – three dead men sprawled on the warehouse floor. Upon further inspection of the premises, he discovered a barely conscious Monica Townsend and stayed by her side until the paramedics arrived.

In the hospital later that evening, supposed to be returning home to his wife and two sons, Chase felt prompted to stay at Monica’s bedside to ensure her safety. In the still of the night, a gunshot rang out in the hospital corridor.

Chase and Monica escape and begin running for their lives, but they face an even bigger challenge as they battle an attraction to each other which intensifies as each hour passes. Will they be able to withstand temptation or, in the heat of the moment, after one devastating phone call, will they give in, changing their lives forever?

My Review:

I was sent a ebook to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Monica is a single woman who works as a book editor. Chase is a married cop. Monica and Chase cross paths when Monica is kidnapped. Chase is the first officer on the scene and is immediately drawn to Monica. His first instinct is to protect her, even though he is married with two sons.

Being forced to run for their lives, their feelings for each other increase as time goes on. The situation they find themselves in is not what they asked for so they must to learn to survive.

I really enjoyed getting to know Chase and Monica. I felt like it was the two of them against the world. They are determined to help each other, lead by their hearts.  Their families are connected in so many ways, on both sides of the law.  Depending on each other, learning to trust each other and discovering their own strengths between them.  They also find help along the way.

Each page turn kept me connected to the storyline. This book is full of mystery, suspense and romance. An Affair to Remember was an exciting read from beginning to end. I cannot wait to read more.

You can buy the book on Amazon.

Thanks so much for the lovely thoughts. I know this isn’t your typical storyline to read so it’s especially wonderful to see how you embraced the story and characters.

  2. Vanessa W says:

I am really getting into romance novels after reading 50 Shades of Grey. I love that it brings in action too. Definitely on my must-read list now!
