It’s the start of a new year, and all new blog posts for me. So, of course, a new method for planning out and keeping track of blog post items is in order. After dinner out with my husband one evening, we stopped at a Redbox outside one of our local Walgreens stores to pick up a few movies. I needed to buy some sodas and tissues (since our son had a cold, poor guy), so we went inside and wandered around for a while.
While perusing the aisles, I saw this totally beautiful 2016 Blue Sky Planner and it (almost literally) jumped in my cart and begged me to take it home! LOL
I love the plastic layer that protects the floral print on the front cover of the planner. It’s thick and durable, perfect to stand up to the stains my coffee cup will insist on leaving since I will be able to simply wipe them away with a damp cloth.
You can get pretty creative with this floral background if you want to personalize your planner more. Think of it as a scrapbook, you could layer pictures or stickers or add your favorite quote here to make it uniquely you.
I love the monthly view for a simple listing of the blog posts that I publish. It will allow me to see at a glance how productive (or non-productive I’m being overall).
And this weekly view will be very handy for me to insert a little more information, if needed, regarding the posts. I like that Monday – Friday have large writing areas, but that Saturday and Sunday are smaller. I don’t work much on the weekends, as that is family time, so those spaces would be great to use instead for “To Do” lists for the week, perhaps.
The planner also has room to keep track of Contact Information as well as blank Note pages to jot info down on.
For those of you on the washi tape crazy train, you can use that pretty stuff (or stickers, or whatever scrapbooking items you like) to embellish and personalize your planner even more!
This is going to be so much better than how I was keeping track of things before. Check it out…
Yup…that’s just a lined-page journal that I hand-drew a monthly calendar in. That’s how I kept track of what I posted. Then I also had separate pages to make notes about what needed to be included in the posts. I got tired of flipping back and forth so much between the lists and wherever the calendar page was located for the current month. December was a pretty busy month, and it would have been great to have more room to make notes in. But, I kept forgetting to get a planner. I’m not sorry to say goodbye to drawing a calendar page every month, and I’m excited to have a pretty, dedicated blog post planner to work with for 2016.
