Confession: My family and I live on a budget. For as long as I can remember, we have been living on a small budget. We have learned over the years that it was caused by wrong choices. Thankfully, we have learned to make responsible decisions and not jump in with both feet before thinking of the long run.
Since we have lived on either little or one income for so long, I have learned to save money here and there. It may not seem like much, but just a few changes can help. I was thinking of a few health and beauty tips I have discovered and I think they are worth sharing.
I am always looking for ways to save money! One major way for us to save money is using natural products since they have multiple uses.
Now that I am a stay at home mom again, I hope to go back into basic couponing. I used to use coupons at Walgreens to save on shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and many other items!
Tip 1: Save on toothpaste
You may not be aware, but you can squeeze and squeeze your tooth paste but why strain yourself when you can use something as simple as a bobby pin!? I have a tooth paste saver thing that my mom bought from the dollar store but lately it’s been difficult for me to get it to latch on to the toothpaste. Now, I use a bobby pin! It stays in place and prevents any product from going to waste.
Tip 2: Natural beauty oils
Make use of natural beauty oils.
Coconut Oil is the easiest to find at your local grocery store. You can usually find it in the cooking oils aisle. Choose organic and virgin coconut oil. Coconut oil can be used as a leave in conditioner, face and body moisturizer, nails/cuticles, eye makeup remover and furniture polish!
Yes, you read that right – furniture polish. I use this coconut oil to polish my wood furniture! This one is in a spray on moisturizer. I find it easy to spray and then wipe the furniture. Coconut oil is natural and shines my furniture perfectly. Plus, it saves me from buying a separate furniture polish product filled with chemicals!
Argan Oil is amazing! I use it as a leave in condition after showering. I added a few drops to my hair and when my hair dries; my hair is so soft and shines in the sun! Personally, I keep the oil away from my scalp because I dislike the look and feel of a greasy scalp on myself. Argan oil can also be used as a face and body moisturizer, nails/cuticles and eye makeup remover. I currently use ACURE Moroccan Argan Oil as my leave in conditioner.
Jojoba Oil is my current eye makeup remover. It does not irritate my eyes like coconut oil does. I can also use jojoba oil as a face and body moisturizer and nails/cuticles. I currently use Leven Rose Jojoba Oil.
I love all three oils equally as they all work in similar ways but I do use each one for specific uses.
